- La Macina di San Cresci مرکزی در نزدیکی شهر توسکانی با یک ساختمان تاریخی و قدیمی است، که هنرمندان امکان اقامت و انجام کارهای هنری در آن را دارند.
- به گزارش گالری آنلاین، طول دوره از یک هفته تا سه ماه است و هنرمندان در رشته های زیر امکان حضور در برنامه را دارند:
- طراحی، نقاشی، مجسمه سازی، عکاسی، فیلم، هنرهای جدید، چیدمان، هنرهای بین رشته ای، طراحی صنعتی و معماری
- محل اقامت شامل یک اتاق خصوصی و خانه مشترک با تجهیزات و اینترنت در اختیار هنرمندان خواهد بود.
- خانواده و یا یک همراه با هنرمند میتواند در برنامه حضور داشته باشد.
- کارگاهی با وسعت ۴۲ متر مربع همراه با امکانات در اختیار هنرمندان است.
- هزینه شرکت در برنامه برای هفته اول ۴۰۰ یورو و برای هفته های بعدی، هر هفته ۳۰۰ یورو خواهد بود.
- ۲۰۰ یورو به عنوان پیش پرداخت در هنگام پذیرش از هنرمند دریافت میشود.
- هنرمندان هر زمان در طول سال که درخواست و رزومه خود را ارسال نمایند، حداکثر تا یک ماه بعد نتیجه درخواست خود را دریافت می نمایند.

Artist residency consist of sojourning from 7 to 90 days, with a possible time extension subject to availability.
This period covers a program based on the personal project proposal presented.
We will provide promotion through exhibition, publication and/or exposure.
We publish the yearbook “The Artistic Time” representative of the artist-in-residence and events and we provide archive of the artists on our website.
La Macina di San Cresci cooperates with some Art Galleries in Florence, where it is possible to organize exhibitions for our artists.
Selection procedure
Applicants are invited based upon resume, compatibility and stated artistic intentions.
Decisions are made by a committee composed of representatives from the Municipality of Greve in Chianti and a staff of artists and professionals.
Presentation of artists’ work
At the end of the residency, we can host an Open Studios day, open to the general public. This is a great chance for the artists to share the work done during the residency with a broader audience who is made up of professionals, art lovers, neighbors, friends.
Exhibition and public talks takes place at discretion of the La Macina staff and in agreement with the resident artist.
Allowance granted to artists
La Macina di San Cresci is not able to provide direct financial support to artists. Artists in residence are therefore expected to cover their own living expenses and the costs of their accommodation and studio space.
We are happy to assist artists seeking grants or other forms of funding in their home country/institution, by providing letters of recommendation when the candidature is accepted.
Another possibility of financial aid is fundraising through a crowdfunding site (gofundme, kickstarter, indiegogo, etc.). In this way some of our artists have successfully supported their residence.
We hope they will benefit from the opportunity to work in a professional supportive environment, and we make every effort to provide the necessary support to ensure that their time with us is fruitful and enjoyable.
Residency fee
۱ week € ۴۰۰, each next week € ۳۰۰٫
Is requested a deposit of € ۲۰۰ when the applicant receives acceptation of the candidature.
Balance is due no later one month before the sojourning begins.
Refund Policy
Deposit is non-refundable. Any cancellation must be made in writing by regular mail or email.
No reimbursement if you cancel your residency 21 days or less before the sojourning beginning.
Who we are
La Macina di San Cresci , established in 2001, is a place for creation, presentation and documentation of contemporary art in all its forms.
It is a member of RES ARTIS, the largest existing network of artist residency programs numbering over 400 members drawn from more than 50 countries.
We have restored this architectural complex for long fifteen years and for us it was like a dream to revive such an extraordinary building. As we are in the field of art, we have invested in La Macina to make it a place to accommodate and imagine new forms of dialogue within the context of art and culture.
Mission :
We believe art and offer artists an opportunity to work for an extended period of time in a social environment that is quite different from the urban milieu that is the usual context of production and distribution of the contemporary arts. This new experience provides artists with a major stimulus to experiment with new ideas, approaches and modes of production, encouraging artists to rethink and renegotiate their role in such unfamiliar social contexts. It also invites communities to be receptive to creative practices that don’t conform to traditional expectations.
Our mission is to encourage the mobility of artists interested in exploring their ideas in a well appointed studio far from home; to develop a cultural exchange at local, national and international levels through the involvement and participation of foreign institutions, both public and private; to be a laboratory of experience where artist-teachers and young artists can work together.

La Macina di San Cresci consists of studio space, library, gallery and residence for artists and it is located in the historic complex of the Pieve di San Cresci.
An open laboratory for artistic projects, a retreat, a place of contemplation and creativity
Sometimes residents become quite involved in a community – giving presentations, workshops, or collaborating with local residents. At other times, they are quite seclude, with ample time to focus and investigate their own practice.
Events opportunities: book presentation, theater and music performances, art and design exhibitions, workshops, visit local artists and craftsmen.
The artists living here have an opportunity to exchange experience and to learn from one another also seated around a table to share a dinner with a good glass of wine.
The relaxed atmosphere of Chianti and the splendid historic building, from the 10th century, form an exciting combination.
During the stay the artists will have the opportunity to go on several outings and visits to the surroundings, which abound in places of special naturalistic and historical significance.
The Chianti-area with its dense concentration of vineyards, olive groves, old farmhouses, vegetable gardens, orchards, hilltop cypresses, terraced slopes and wooded valleys remains the definitive embodiment of the idea of the Tuscan landscape offering a picturesque frame for your memorable art residency.
The area provides an endless range of interesting things to see and do.
For those interested in architecture and history – or simply picturesque views – the main sights in the area of Chianti to the east of Greve among the Chianti hills and the slopes of the Val D’Arno are the innumerable castles and tower house. Florence and Siena are right next door! And Pisa, San Gimignano, Lucca, Volterra, the Scuplure’s Parks, the numerous markets.
We can arrange excursions to the major interesting places.
